SAP MM : How To MAINTAIN STORAGE LOCATION ?

MAINTAIN STORAGE LOCATION

Storage location is an organisational unit that allows the differentiation of material stocks within a plant.  Inventory management and physical inventory are carried out on a quantity basis at storage location level, within a plant.

In Short a storage location is the place where stock is physically kept within a plant.

A storage location has the following characteristic:

• Storage locations are always Created for a plant
• Storage location has a description and at least one address
• There may be one or more storage locations in one plant
• It is possible to store material data specific to a storage location
• At storage location level, Stocks are managed only on a qty basis and not on a value basis
• Physical inventories are Carries out at storage location level
• A storage location can be assigned to a warehouse number in the warehouse management system. You can assign more than one storage location to the same warehouse number within a plant

STEP 1: Following is the path For MAINTAIN STORAGE LOCATION

• IMG activity path :IMG > ENTERPRISE STRUCTURE > DEFINATION > MATERIAL MANAGENENT>MAINTAIN STORAGE LOCATION
• Transaction code : OX09

STEP 2: Click On SAP reference IMG Option, and then Go as per following Path

STEP 2: Click on execute button to MAINTAIN STORAGE LOCATION (Following type Window will open)

STEP 3:  Enter the PLANT CODE, Click on TICK Button to Proceed Further 

(Following type Window will open)

STEP 4:   Click on New Entries Button (Following type Window will open)

STEP 5:    Enter the 4 Digit Storage location code & Give appropriate Description

STEP 6:  Hit Enter Button & Then Click On Save Button

STEP 7:  Now select the above created Storage Location & Double click on Address of storage

STEP 7.1 :(Following type Window will open)

STEP 7.1:  Click On New Entries (Following type Window will open)

STEP 7.2:  Give Number 

and Hit Enter Button ( Edit address Window will Open)

STEP 7.3:  Fill the storage Location address

STEP 7.1:  Save

STEP 8:   Click On Save Button to store Configured data

·         You can navigate the Org Structure in Organizational Object Company Code ( using T Code EC01)

o    EC01 > Click on Structure button > Click on Navigation button > click on Tick Button > scroll to your company & Double click , then you will see the step wise Org structure
